Dear CPS Families,
The safety of our students is the district’s highest priority, especially when weather conditions are potentially dangerous. Due to the significant snowfall already on the ground and anticipated inclement weather in the hours ahead, in-person learning is canceled at all CPS schools tomorrow, Tuesday, February 16. Classes will be held remotely for all students.
- All students should engage in remote learning on Tuesday and should plan to stay indoors for their safety.
- Grab-and-go meal distribution will continue tomorrow, but some sites may be impacted if staff have transportation challenges in the morning. Families are encouraged to visit cps.edu/mealsites or call 773-553-KIDS tomorrow to confirm their site is open.
- Select Child Learning Hubs will be open tomorrow dependent upon staffing availability. We will be reaching out to registered families to provide an update on the services that will be available at each site.
- We expect that schools will re-open for scheduled in-person learning on Wednesday, February 17. We will provide an update tomorrow as soon as we have certainty about the status of in-person learning on Wednesday. For the latest updates on this developing weather situation, please visit the CPS website, or follow our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts. Recorded updates will also be available by phone at (773) 553-1000.
We thank you for your flexibility and ask that you please share this message with your friends and family who have children in CPS schools.
